MISSION STATEMENT
The Carroll Shelby Foundation™ is dedicated to providing financial support for children and medical professionals to help overcome life-threatening health issues worldwide and promoting continuing educational development.
ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
Legendary racer and automotive manufacturer Carroll Shelby, following years of heart-related difficulties, which culminated in a successful heart transplant, created the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation™ in October 1991. The organization is dedicated to providing assistance for acute coronary and kidney care for young people who share many of the same afflictions. 2009 the Foundation took another beat and expanded its reach and became the Carroll Shelby Foundation™ helping kids from their first heartbeat through their education years.
To date the Carroll Shelby Foundation™ has helped numerous youngsters undergo major coronary surgeries and help charities and children worldwide raise money for their own fundraising campaigns and provided seed monies to launch healthcare programs and facilities, the Foundation also provides grants to organizations conducting research in the fields of coronary and organ transplant management. The Foundation, expanding its reach, will provide scholarship money to kids dedicated to enhancing their lives through continuing educational opportunities in the automotive field.

Long Island's Premier Food Bank and Hunger Assistance Organization since 1985

Long Island Cares, Inc. - The Harry Chapin Food Bank. Founded in 1980 by the late singer, songwriter and social activist, Harry Chapin, our organization provides nutritional food and support services for a network of more than 540 community-based member agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, child care programs, disability organizations, veterans services and more.  While the annual distribution of nearly 6 million pounds of nutritional food warehoused in our 27,000 square foot Distribution Center is at the heart of Long Island Cares’ operations, we function as more than just a food bank.
Long Island Cares provides a broad array of programs and services including hunger education, job training, supplemental food programs for children, school supplies, job development, legislative advocacy, and a triage food pantry.

OUR MISSION is the Preservation and protection of the magnificent structures and grounds of the Sands Point Preserve, to promote the Guggenheim Estate as a living museum focused on the preserve's rich history, natural habitats and the architectural features that enhance educational and cultural experiences for all who visit.
The aim of the Friends of the Sands Point Preserve, is to take the current Sands Point Preserve and restore it as closely as possible to the way it was when it was the Guggenheim Estate. By gradually restoring first the grounds and then the buildings of the 216 acre property to the natural look and feel of the Gatsby era and concentrating on programs and exhibits such as in the main exhibit halls of Castlegould, that allow visitors to experience and enjoy that time, the Preserve will become a more important environmental, historical, cultural and natural resource for county residents and should in time come closer to financial self-sufficiency.
